Critical ComponentsEdit

You need these components for the PMD Editor to function correctly. If not, the program may refuse to run. PMD Editor is a DirectX compliant application, and needs version 9.0c (or higher in order to work. Download the Distributables and End user runtimes first, the SDK should be downloaded if those aren't enough to run the program without dialogs.

You may also want to update your graphics drivers. To do so, determine the kind of graphics card you have and find drivers for it (usually on the manufacturer's site, or windows update). You may also want to try updating your motherboard drivers if that isn't enough (if the model doesn't display in the viewer, or the colors appear distorted in MMD). This should only be the case if you've just re-installed windows, but you could still try updating them if you want.

UPDATE: The newer SlimDX releases may require you to install .Net Framework 4.0 instead. If you'd installed 2.0 pre-SlimDX and have been using the program all along, Windows update would have supplied you with updates up until version 4.

UPDATE2: The newer SlimDX releases also seem to require MS Visual C++ Redistributable Package. If your PMDEditor version 0.1.3.1 exits with an error message, try installing the C++ Redistributables. See the link below.

However, if you're installing brand new, make sure you have .net Framework 4.0 (installing 3.5 first is recommended). The web installer will automatically download the 32 or 64 bit version for you. SDKs should be used only if installing ALL of the components does not work.
